With bank holidays being a popular time for undertaking DIY projects, people in West Norfolk are being given the chance to recycle paints that they no longer need.
People living in the borough are being encouraged to take their paints to the Crown Decorating Centre in Wisbech, as part of the company’s Kick Out the Can initiative, which continues until April 18.
Similar programmes are being held at sites in Norwich and Yarmouth and are being supported by Norfolk County Council.
Toby Coke, chairman of the authority’s environment, development and transport committee, said: “This is a great recycling initiative by a world class company and we are glad to see it here.
“It complements our popular annual household hazardous waste amnesties which we run at our biggest recycling centres each year.”
Participants will be given a voucher for 20 per cent off a future purchase, which can be used at any time before the end of the year.
Paula Taylor, Crown Paints marketing manager, said: “Our campaign offers a practical solution.”
