West Norfolk Community Action (WNCA) has forged a partnership with two other lead voluntary organisations in Norfolk.
Momentum Norfolk, Norfolk Rural Community Council (RCC) and WNCA each provide specialist advice and support services to voluntary and community groups across the county and, in support of their decision to maximise the benefits of working together, have issued a formal undertaking to do just that.
A huge range of community-based activities across the county is carried out by volunteers, in groups or as individuals, giving of their free time and energies.
The three organisations have committed to sharing knowledge and resources and providing a specialist voice for the benefit of the voluntary and community sector, whilst still retaining strong tailored approaches to meet the individual needs of different areas and groups.
Heather Farley, chief executive of WNCA, welcomed the move.
She said: “Norfolk has a large and varied voluntary sector, creating a significant contribution to Norfolk, whether that’s providing direct support to those in need, campaigning on important issues or just adding to the vibrancy of our communities, and a population of nearly 860,000 living in an area of more than 2,00sq miles covers a vast spectrum of community needs.
“Whilst all three of our organisations individually offer high standards of support when and where needed, working together is clearly the way forward.”
