Make your views known on new incinerator, says West Norfolk Council
West Norfolk Council is asking residents of the borough what they think about a plan for an incinerator just over the border in Cambridgeshire.
MVV Environment Ltd is proposing an energy-from-waste combined heat and power project in the Medworth ward of Wisbech, which will be determined by the Government energy minister.
Any correspondence needs to be directed to MVV Environment in the first instance and then the Planning Inspectorate.
West Norfolk is one of our 'host' authorities seeking to consult with its residents, along with Cambridgeshire and Norfolk county councils and Fenland District Council.
The local authorities will also be involved in producing Local Impact Reports (LIRs) on the impacts of the proposal on the communities affected ready for the examination stage.
West Norfolk Council cabinet member for development and regeneration, Richard Blunt said: "The responsibility for deciding whether to approve or refuse this application lies with the secretary of state not with the local authorities.
"We are statutory consultees and will provide our own views direct to the consultation on this application.
"What is really important is that any members of the public, businesses, or parish councils ensure that they have their say, by providing their comments direct to Medworth CHP Ltd. Comments must be received by them by August 13."
Consultation materials can be downloaded from www.mvv-medworthchp.co.uk/documents and the feedback form can be completed electronically at www.mvv-medworthchp.co.uk/get-in-touch.
