The drought has well and truly broken in West Norfolk with thunderstorms both yesterday and today hitting the area with a vengeance.

Yesterday in the early hours a lightning bolt damaged the top of Hunstanton lighthouse.

Later on in the evening the thunder and lightning returned. These pictures were taken by Gemma Hutton who said: "Look at these awesome pics taken tonight at Hunstanton of my girls and niece."

The stormy conditions did mean that few people if any got a chance to see the lunar eclipse, with the blood-red moon on display, that occurred last night.

Early morning rain will dissipate today for a generally fine, if much cooler day than we have got used to recently. Tomorrow should be warmer, but expect rain in the afternoon.
