White rabbit joins party at Watlington village fete
The annual Watlington Grand Village Fete took place on Saturday, with this year’s celebration introducing a new mascot.
Now in its seventh year, organisers introduced Watson, a white rabbit created by Tiptoe Entertainment.
Watson was spotted walking around the Village Hall Sports and Social Club grounds, entertaining youngsters and snapping selfies with villagers.
Organiser Penny Cooke said: “We had a brilliant day on Saturday. The weather was very kind to us once the fete got started.
“The opening of the fete by Jo Moss, the author who lives in Watlington, and the opening of the multi-use games area by the Deputy Mayor, Geoff Hipperson, went smoothly in spite of Watson’s efforts to interrupt the proceedings!
“The dog show, children’s sports, display by the Eagles Gymnastic group and performances by both groups of the Watlington Players, The School of Dance Watlington, Kate Mould & Hugh Pearce and the Flukes Ukulele Band all added to the enjoyment.
“There was a great variety of stalls and games, Grays Fun Fair rides and plenty of refreshments available.”
