Who knew Santa drove a Land Rover? Bags of presents delivered to King's Lynn hospital ward
Last Sunday, 4x4 enthusiasts from four different clubs in Norfolk drove their Land Rovers from Ryston Hall to Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital to deliver bags of presents to West Newton ward.
The event’s organiser, Philip Shipp, said: “West Newton ward is for care of the elderly, and its a group of people that often gets left out around Christmas time.
“We delivered nine sackfuls of presents to the ward and nurses came out to receive them from us, they were so pleased.”
On the day, 35 Land Rovers made the pilgrimage, each one decorated with tinsel and wreaths.
Even the drivers themselves donned Christmas attire.
‘VIP guest’ Ash Denny and her son Will joined the convoy from Great Yarmouth on the day in her decked-out Suzuki Grand Vitara.
Philip said: “It was a brilliant day, and those who took part are the real stars of the show!
“A massive thank you to Downham Country Garden store for providing refreshments, Downham Tesco for giving presents and Sarah Pratt for letting us drive from Ryston Hall.
“It was super and we are all really looking forward to next year.”
