Who needs a licence... Prince Philip spotted carriage driving at Dersingham
It appears the Duke of Edinburgh has swapped his Land Rover for a horse-drawn carriage, after he was spotted driving the carriage close to the royal Sandringham estate this morning (Tuesday, March 26).
Prince Philip, 97, an international class carriage driver, was seen driving a carriage pulling four horses, with two aides, on a public road in Dersingham at about 9.40am.
The Duke surrendered his driving licence voluntarily last month, after a crash on the A149 in January.
Since the collision between his Land Rover Freelander and another vehicle, Philip apologised to Lynn resident Emma Fairweather who was injured during the incident, and the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed it "would not be in the public interest" to prosecute, and said no further action would be taken.
