Lynn businesswoman explains why she Loves West Norfolk

By Lynn News Reporter

Since it was launched a year ago, the Love West Norfolk campaign has gathered an army of supporters saying why the area is dear to their hearts.

Among them is businesswoman Carole Pepperell, managing director of Carousel Consultancy in Lynn's King Street.

Here Carole explains why West Norfolk was the perfect place for her to live and work: “I was extremely lucky, I wanted to move out of Hertfordshire and found a house in Middleton that ticked every box.

"I made the move in 2007 and continued to commute daily into London until April 2017, when I decided to open a branch of Carousel in Lynn on an instinctual whim.

“Never to think about things for too long, I was having a coffee with my sister in Waitrose when we were joined by her colleague who started to talk about how difficult it was to find staff in the area. I literally went out of the shop, made a phone call and began looking for premises. I knew I could make a difference!

“My major breakthrough came when I joined my local BNI Chapter, I was not a local but wanted to meet local business people. It worked. I found my office through a fellow BNI member and with Gabi, my first member of staff, went to work calling the local businesses.

"I really enjoyed introducing them to our way of recruitment – personal and tailor-made to fit into their unique culture and environment.

“Working in West Norfolk is a far cry from the hectic pace of London. There is a balance here and I love that I can work and make a living as well.

"There are major businesses all over Lynn who deserve to have someone battling their corner to bring talent to their door.

“Carousel has now successfully placed many candidates across the local businesses temporary and permanent and has developed those trusting relationships needed to sustain a good working relationship.

“One of the best things I have done since moving is working with a candidate who wanted to do the same as me. Relocate and find a more balanced way of life. Together we made it happen and he is now working successfully and making his mark also.

“In conclusion, we are both living the dream, working where we live, doing a job that we love and definitely making a difference in our local community. We have finally found that work life balance that we all seek.”
