Organisers of the popular Walpole St Peter Flower Festival were forced to evacuate the refreshments marquee on Tuesday in the heavy winds. Three other marquees were blown over or damaged in the winds, but luckily no-one was injured.
Between 2,000 and 3,000 people went along to the church over the five-day festival to admire the flower arrangements, which followed a “seasons” theme. It’s hoped to raise more than £5,000 to help with the upkeep of the church.
