Hunstanton woman Glenys Shelton, whose body was found on beach, died due to drowning
A 69-year-old Hunstanton woman whose body was found on a beach died due to drowning, the opening of an inquest has heard.
Glenys Shelton, who was a retired retail entrepreneur, was found by a member of the public on Hunstanton beach on Friday, October 20 last year.
The opening of her inquest held at Norfolk Coroner’s Court yesterday was told that the medical cause of her death was drowning.
Senior coroner for Norfolk Jacqueline Lake adjourned the hearing for a full inquest to take place on April 19.
On October 20, police were called to Seagate Road at around 11.45pm after a member of the public reported finding her body on the sand, opposite the Sea Life Centre.
At the time, police said the death was being treated as unexplained.
