A woman has been arrested and bailed in connection with a car fire in North Lynn early on Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to Jarvis Road at around 5.20am after reports that a black BMW 730 car had been set alight.

Although fire service chiefs said the blaze had been put out before they arrived, police said around £1,500 worth of damage had been caused to the vehicle.

A 52-year-old woman from Lynn was arrested in connection with the incident and later released on bail pending further inquiries.

Police now want to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area at the time.

Witnesses are asked to contact PC Laura Hornigold on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 with any information.
