Woman charged over village heroin discovery

A woman has been remanded in custody after drugs, cash and a mobile phone were seized during a police operation in a village near Swaffham this week.

Police say a woman was stopped in School Lane, Necton, at around 4.45pm on Wednesday afternoon, where a quantity of heroin was seized.

More heroin, together with cash and a mobile phone, was then recovered from a house in Mill Street, Necton.

Romana Wright, 40, of Mill Street, Necton, appeared before Norwich magistrates yesterday, charged with being concerned in the supply of a class A drug and possession of a class A drug with intent to supply.

She was remanded in custody to appear before Ipswich Crown Court on June 18.
