Woman dies in A47 collision at Swaffham

A woman in her 20s died in an accident on the A47 at Swaffham on Saturday.

The incident happened shortly after 5.30am close to the junction with Sporle Road.

The collision involved a Honda Accord. The female driver died at the scene. A male passenger, also in his 20s, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital. He was later arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail.

Firefighters were called to cut the occupants out of the car. The road was closed until 12.30pm.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
