Norfolk detectives granted additional time to question man after Emneth woman died – with provisional cause of death confirmed as gunshot
Detectives have been given additional time to question a man suspected of murder following the death of a woman in West Norfolk.
And the woman, who was found at Lady’s Drove in Emneth on Monday, has been provisionally named as 65-year-old Lesley Page. Early results suggest she died after being shot.
Officers were called to the address shortly before 7.30am following a report that her body had been found.
A man in his 60s was arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday. He was taken to Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning, and remains in custody.
Officers applied for a warrant of further detention at Norwich Magistrates’ Court yesterday and were granted an additional 36 hours to question him.
That extension will expire at 3.36am tomorrow morning.
A post-mortem examination was also carried out yesterday, with provisional results showing the cause of death as gunshot wounds to the torso.
Pending formal Coroner’s inquest proceedings to confirm her identity, police provisionally named Ms Page.
