Woman in 80s taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn after falling next to lorry leaking fluid in Fakenham
A woman in her 80s has been hospitalised after falling at the scene of a lorry leaking fluid.
Police were called to Holt Road in Fakenham at 9.51am yesterday to reports of the woman suffering injuries. At the scene, officers found a lorry leaking fluid into the road and established that the woman had fallen.
Holt Road was closed at 10.02am and reopened at 1.43pm.
The East of England Ambulance Service dispatched two emergency vehicles to the scene after being informed that the woman had been injured in her fall.
A spokesman confirmed that the patient was transported to Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further assessment and care.
At the time of the incident, AA Traffic reported that the road had been blocked in both directions and that travel was slow.
