King's Lynn woman kicked two police officers
A 19-year-old Lynn woman has appeared in court to admit kicking two police officers.
Rebecca Fulmer assaulted the female constables who had attended reports of a fight outside a nightclub.
Magistrates in Lynn on Thursday were told that Fulmer reacted to the officers by crossing the street screaming: “I haven’t done anything wrong.”
Prosecutor Abdul Khan said: “The defendant shouted ‘I have the right not to be attacked.
“As PC [Rachel] Allen holds on to the defendant’s arm, the defendant kicked out contacting the officer’s right knee.”
PC Rebecca Pinnock came to help and was kicked in the shin.
The disturbance happened outside The Metro in Quebec Street, Dereham, on April 2.
Fulmer, of North Everard Street, pleaded guilty to two counts of assaulting an emergency worker. In light of the guilty pleas, a third matter of being drunk and disorderly was withdrawn by the proscution.
The court heard, in mitigation, that the defendant had not been involved in the fight, which had involved a cousin.
A letter from a local authority had outlined “extremely difficult circumstances” for Fulmer and the hearing was told she had made very positive changes.
She was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £75 compensation to each police officer.
