Terrington St Clement woman runs virtual marathon




Linda Pepper, 59, from Terrington St Clement, has fought her way back from ill health to run the virtual London marathon last weekend.

A few years ago Linda was in a wheelchair and since recovering she joined parkrun at the Walks in Lynn.

She got the running bug culminating in her marathon run in loops around the village in five hours and 40 minutes.

During the race was fantastic support from her husband Adrian also 59 who also ran in under 5 hours and son Thomas who won 18 miles alongside describing her as his superhero.

She ran to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK and has raised more than £2,500 with the total between them more than £4,000.

Linda, of Hay Green in Terrington, said: "I have had ill health with bowel adhesions and I have ongoing bowel issues so it is doubly hard for running.

"I started running two years ago and encouraged my husband and I could not run for one minute or from one lamp post to the next.

"I went to to parkrun in Lynn and also started the couch to 5k app. Following this invaluable programme meant I progressed from 5k to 10k and then a half marathon.

I decided to apply for the London marathon and was gutted I didn't get a place so I decided to do the virtual marathon.

"I have now joined the Terrington St Clement running club every Thursday night and also have become a member of the Renegade Runners and Wheelers."
