A woman in her 70s from South Wootton has raised the alarm for others after receiving a scam telephone.

It happened two days ago where the caller asked her for her medical history and is a scam she feels is different from the usual.

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, told the Lynn News: "He was called David and said he was calling from a private medical company in Dorset who provide medical aids and wanted to know my medical history.

"He said my doctors had given him my telephone number but I am ex-directory.

"He didn't ask for any payment but I think it would have got round to that.

"I watch a lot of those scam programmes so I'm cautious.

"I have got an appointment with my doctors so I am going to ask them if they would have given out my telephone number.

"I just want people to be aware. If I have had a call maybe others have too."
