Another successful season for West Norfolk RUFC was capped off with the players’ annual dinner, featuring ex-England front rower Jeff Probyn as the guest speaker.

Probyn, who made his name as one of the best tight head props in the world during the 1991 World Cup campaign, which saw England narrowly lose out to Australia in the final, entertained the players with a host of stories about his playing days.

After being promoted as Eastern Counties One league champions last year, West have carried their momentum on, finally finishing third in London North East 3.

Probyn presented trophies for the following player awards: Most Improved – Dan Stephenson, Supporters’ Player – Jamie Williamson, Most Promising Young Player – Harry Mahoney, Most Promising Youth Player – (joint winners) John Nwarei & Fred Playford.
