Specsavers re-opens and is taking appointments

People who have suffered an issue with their vision during lockdown will now be able to book an appointment with opticians Specsavers.

However, the chain, which has branches in Lynn, Hunstanton and Fakenham, says it cannot see patients who are not experiencing issues with their vision.

But an email sent to customers says it has added additional safety measures.

It states: "From June 1, we’re open to see you if you’ve noticed any change at all in your vision during lockdown or since your last eye test - we call this an essential check-up.

"You can book an appointment. Once you've booked, we'll get in touch with you to make sure a store visit and eye test is the best option for you.

"If you’ve suffered a serious and significant deterioration in your vision recently, please call us immediately. We may have to ask you to come in to store as a matter of urgency to investigate your condition further.

"Unfortunately, we can’t see you just yet if you’re not experiencing any issues with your sight. We’ll be back in touch to let you know when we can offer you a routine eye test again.

"And finally, if you’re feeling a little nervous about venturing out and in to our store as things get back to normal, we want to let you know that we understand. That’s why we’ve added a number of additional safety measures to make sure you feel as safe and comfortable as possible when you come in to see us."
