Magdalen youngster shows true grit in design competition
Molly Wallace, a Year 5 pupil at Magdalen Academy, has won a competition to name a bright yellow gritting machine.
The competition was open to all schools by Norfolk County Council for school children to design a picture and the winner could choose the name for the gritter.
Children submitted their designs to the county council and it was narrowed down to a final five children.
Molly Wallace was chosen as the winner from all these entrants and got to name the gritter Snowy.
There has been a bit of a delay due to Covid-19 for the gritter to visit the school, and on Tuesday it was driven in to the playground with its new name written on it.
Lisa Banks, office administrator at Magdalen school said: "We are a little village school so this promotes the school and shows the children here are amazing."
