Twenty-two children, both past and present, from the language integrated facility at Terrington St Clement Community School attended a reunion party at Lynn’s Planet Zoom last Thursday.
The school is one of five across the whole of Norfolk who provide a specialist resource base (SRB) for Reception and KS1 children whose main difficulty is expressive speech/language.
Youngsters attend up to four sessions a week at the Terrington unit, which has been in operation for four years.
Heather Gascoyne, lead teacher at SRB, said: “We came up with the idea to hold a reunion as it’s nice to keep in touch with the children and their parents and see how much they are progressing.
“Planet Zoom very kindly donated their facility one evening after school. We sent out 38 invitations and had 22 people attend.
“When children come to us they are normally quite withdrawn and quiet, so it us lovely to see how much confidence some of them have gained since leaving us.”
