After seeing on BBC Look East the conviction of Paul Roberts, a bus driver with Stagecoach, for fighting with a passenger who was scared by his fast erratic driving, I would like to say that as a regular passenger of Stagecoach I have some sympathy with the passenger.
You often find yourself hanging on as the small buses tear along country roads as if in a road race time trial. Is Stagecoach’s expectations of drivers being able to complete the journey from A to B on time undoable? Are drivers on an extra bonus if they manage it? Whatever the reason, passengers’ comfort and safety doesn’t come into it.
