Have your say

Further to the letter “shelters for all weathers” from Robert Raab, (Lynn News, July 7), I would like to assure readers that the new canopy was designed from the outset to provide shelter for people not buses.

The design was carefully considered to ‘design out’ anti-social behaviour and its placing keeps sufficient distance from the buses in the bays to avoid any damage. The shelter is a huge improvement on the previous arrangement.

In respect of the small shelters, following consultation, the initial scheme (which showed one small shelter to the side of the canopy) was amended to include two small shelters. These serve bays G and H. The consultation responses showed that 60 per cent of respondents liked or strongly like the design which is why it was proceeded with.

The new Bus Station Area Officer has received lots of very positive feedback about the improvements to the bus station and the vast majority of people have made positive comments to bus drivers and operators about the changes.
