Two years ago during severely inclement wind conditions there was considerable bluster surrounding the then current state of the NHS.
At that time I made it very clear I had no desire to contribute to that squall. Instead I wished to make a simple statement of undisputed fact. Over the Christmas period 2014 the Queen Elizabeth Hospital saved my life. Had the hospital not been there I would now be a dead man – fact. And I was jolly pleased to still be alive and kicking.
We now move forward in time two years to the period surrounding St Valentine’s Day in 2017. Once again we have just endured severely inclement wind conditions, there is considerable bluster surrounding the current state of the NHS and again I have no desire to contribute to this squall.
But once again I wish to make a simple statement of fact.
Over the St Valentine’s period this year, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital saved my life . Had the QEH not been there I would now be a dead man – fact. I should like to add I am jolly pleased, doubly so, to still be alive and kicking .
