May I take this opportunity, through the Lynn News, to wish all the residents of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. As Christmas arrives it brings families together for a time of happiness and joyous times and gives us time to reflect on those members of our families who are no longer with us.
As mayor I have been privileged to visit all areas of our community and I have been particularly impressed by the many selfless acts of ordinary citizens giving up vast amounts of their time on a voluntary basis for the support of others. Many local charities will be busier than ever over this festive period supporting the vulnerable and less privileged and I would like to thank you all for all that you do.
I know that Christmas can bring with it a time of loneliness and despair for some and I ask you all to make a difference with a spontaneous act of kindness towards others. This for me is the true meaning of Christmas and all what is stands for. Go on, make a difference to somebody today!
Merry Christmas to you all and thank you.
Cllr David Whitby, West Norfolk Mayor
