I do like reading The Artful Codger column in the Lynn News and think that Roger May should be commended for his relentless attack on the never improving transport infrastructure of West Norfolk.

I drive a fairly modern car easily capable of keeping to national speed limits. The in-car technology informs me at a glance my average speed achieved on a journey. Having to regularly travel to Newark in Nottinghamshire to see family I average 26mph on the A17 and 32mph on the A47/A1. I can honestly say that I did better than that nearly 50 years ago in a Ford Popular! Jeremy Clarkson, forget the Ferraris you’re only as fast as the lorry in front of you.
