Having learned from the county council that at least we ratepayers won’t be paying for the proposed roundabout at the junction of the A149 and Hunstanton Road, I must ask do we need it at all?
Wouldn’t it be cheaper and less disruptive to install traffic lights? After all, they are regarded as perfectly adequate at the Lavender Centre corner only a mile or so away.
But this project is yet another example of the same failure of our system of local government where officials are based miles from the area over which they officiate and councillors concern themselves only with their own electors and getting reelected. So our views are totally ignored.
