Have your say

I was interested to read Jeffrey Reed’s comments (Letters, January 20), particularly the statement: “I will do everything I can to help save what is left of our environment and our once beautiful town.”

This leads me to believe that he speaks with forked tongue.

Why then did he vote to accept and promote outline plans to build a fast-food outlet with associated parking and nuisance to nearby residents while being a member of Downham Town Council Planning Committee?

If this goes ahead it will destroy the land which was once used as a playing field off Bexwell Road.

His comments being that if we vote against this, then we will have egg on our face if the borough subsequently approves the planning application.

Mrs J Pyatt,
