Have your say

I have a friend visiting in mid-June who was part of the evacuation of Dalston Girls’ School at the beginning of the war.

Her name was Irene David and, with her brother, was first billeted with a potato merchant before being moved to stay with my family, the Crabbes, on London Road, Downham. If there is anyone who remembers Irene or any of the Dalston girls, I would be very interested to hear from them. I can be contacted at hpkam@hotmail.com
