Have your say

Thank you for Malcolm Cox’s very interesting Nature Notes on bees (October 7).

I am sure there are many of us who share his concern about this important insect’s future, particularly with the prospect of further pesticide sprays like neonicotinoids crops. Perhaps there are more environmentally friendly methods on the way. In Kenya some progressive horticulturalists have abandoned chemicals for biological control. Researchers at Newcastle University have analysed nutrient content and pesticide residue levels in a variety of farm products which showed those grown organically having the most favourable results.
