John Paige, of South Wootton, sent this picture and writes: “Can I please make an appeal to everyone to be a little more thoughtful when they dispose of their rubbish, particularly plastic, near our wonderful coastline. It has serious consequences for our wildlife and marine life.

“I’m no expert, but it can also get ingested by fish, with potential hazards to human beings through the food chain. This photo was taken at Wells-next-the-Sea of a herring gull checking out a plastic bag.”
