Undated handout photo issued by The Co-Operative of their compostable carrier bags which shoppers can use to carry home their groceries and then as liners for their food waste bins. PRESS ASSOCIATION Photo. Issue date: Wednesday January 15, 2014. The bags, which cost 6p each, are strong enough to carry shopping including heavy items such as milk and potatoes. But they are made of natural materials, which mean they can be turned into compost along with food waste, and have been approved for use as waste food caddy liners, the Co-operative said. See PA story ENVIRONMENT Bags. Photo credit should read: The Co-Operative/PA Wire''NOTE TO EDITORS: This handout photo may only be used in for editorial reporting purposes for the contemporaneous illustration of events, things or the people in the image or facts mentioned in the caption. Have your say

It’s OK to take bags with you to shop, but my only problem is not carrying a bag that is appropriate to the shop.

I feel it’s not fair to the shopkeepers that you are not advertising their goods as you walk out. I used to be in advertising myself, so maybe that’s why I feel for them. Personally, I think it would be a good idea to have paper bags in all shops like Primark has, then the Government wouldn’t need to take their share.
