Have your say

I am horrified by the government’s plans to cut down on supporting people who are on the bottom rates of pay, because they don’t earn enough to live on.

Then almost in the next breath they are planning to increase their own rates of pay.

It is as the old song says “It’s the same the whole world over, it’s the poor what gets the blame, it’s the rich that gets the pleasure, ain’t it a blooming shame.”

It seems that nothing has changed after all. The Tories blame people for being poor and want to punish them.

The Labour party who traditionally have taken the part of the downtrodden seem to think that the population in general support the Tory view, and that is why they lost votes in the general election, but that was not the case.

The reason the Labour party did not get in to power was because the opposition to the Conservative party was split so many different ways. There were far too many options on the ballot paper. The only way to get rid of the Conservatives is to unite the opposition.

No fairminded people want to see other people put out of their houses and longer queues at the food banks. Shame on Harriet Harman for telling her party not to oppose the Government. It is their duty to do so.
