Regarding the problem with fly tipping (Lynn News, March 3) the solution is obvious. We lived in Germany during the late 1960s.
Once a month we had a bulk-rubbish collection organised by the local council.
We’d put out all our unwanted items by the side of the road and on the next day they were collected. The beauty of the system was that by the time the collection lorry arrived, most of our items had disappeared as people who needed the items came along and picked them up for themselves. No fly-tipping problems in those days and I would imagine still the same to this day in Germany.
