Have your say

Regarding the Lynn News story about traffic lights at Station Street junction, Swaffham.

We were horrified to read of proposals yet again to exchange the traffic lights here for mini roundabouts. In February 2001, we handed in a petition of over 900 signatures against these including ambulance drivers, local hospital, doctors, dentists, schools, solicitors, businesses and shops, market traders, residents and road users, plus the backing of the then MP Gillian Shephard as well as many councillors.

We all signed to keep the junction safe for traffic and pedestrians alike as this is a blind corner and much used crossroads.

What we need is a re-routing of heavy lorries that do not need to visit the town.

Most car users and certainly large vehicles just go over mini roundabouts so all hell would be let loose with many accidents as a result.

We have lived here now for over 44 years so know this junction well.

Hopefully money will be saved by leaving well alone and common sense will prevail yet again.
