I am very relieved that the council will re-consider their proposal to close the Tuesday Market public toilets in Ferry Street.
Situated beside a large short term car park, I am surprised that they are under-used but even so, they are very necessary to those that need
them. Do the councillors not realize the bladders of the elderly are not as efficient as they used to be? Just what is one supposed to do? The supposedly funny adage “when you’ve got to go, you’ve got to go” just happens to be true and a nightmare if that facility is no longer available. Perhaps the extra £70,000 profit made on the car-parking machines could help offset the cost.
