After reading your article (March 22) about sea defences in my area, does Mr William Searle think money spent – £40,000 – on a statue for Le Strange is money well spent?
His family own a large chunk of Hunstanton/Heacham and Le Strange estate also owns a large chunk of Hunstanton/Old Hunstanton, so couldn’t they afford to club together to pay for one.
Surely the money would be better spent on maintaining the sea front for residents and visitors to enjoy?
I have lived in Hunstanton all my life, 46 years here on the seafront. Mr Searle has earned his living from the seafront for more than 40 years so it would be in his best interest to maintain the seafront.
