Letters: Terry Leake, October 9, 2015

Have your say

Whilst out on a run on September 29 around the hospital area of Fairstead, I came across the unbelievable sight of a traffic enforcement officer’s vehicle parked on double yellow lines very close to a junction and a lowered curb.

I then noticed the officer taking photographs of a vehicle parked on double yellow lines not 30 yards from his own vehicle. A little bit hypocritical don’t you think?

On approaching him I asked if his van was not parked illegally on yellow lines, that close to a junction and dropped curb. He said: “Sorry sir, I cannot engage you whilst I’m carrying out my duties.”

My main reason for writing this letter is to find out whether there is one law for the enforcement officers and one law for the public.

So could somebody from borough council respond to this letter with an answer in plain English.
