Have your say

With reference to the migration crisis, I believe it is like digging a hole in the sand and any solution must be made with the head, not the heart.

With all the goodwill in the world, we cannot have an open door policy and house the world. It is very good of people to open their homes up to the migrants but it can be very dangerous. We do not know anything about these people, or their history. There could be terrorists amongst them, criminals fleeing justice, rapists etc. But it will be the council’s job to house and look after these people. How? The Government is cutting the councils to the bone. The UK has the biggest housing crisis since the Second World War, there are thousands of children trying to find places at schools and doctors’ surgeries, hospitals, transport services and Social Services are all at breaking point. There will be resentment from the indigenous population as there is in Greece, Turkey, Sweden and Italy.

The migrant crisis is destabilising Europe and building up a lot of problems for the future.
