With regard to the Hillsborough disaster, the whole thing stinks to me and has been covered up by the people at the very top, that is to say the Government at the time. There is a partial success over Hillsborough but there now needs to be a comprehensive independent inquiry.
At what level of the police and the Government was the decision to cover up the truth made? At that time, Thatcher’s government was waging war against miners, printers, football fans and dockers’ unions. So was the go-ahead to cover up issued by Thatcher, who was using the South Yorkshire police to destroy the miners? Why would she let any blame stick to the police when it was much easier to blame the fans?
