With regard to Richard Abbott’s letter (May 15). I for one like Jo Rust’s letters and views.

Tories are about greed and selfishness and only have time for the rich, wealthy and the well-off. I believe the electorate has made a grave mistake to give the mandate to the Tories to do what they like.

The NHS is on its knees, 20,000 operations cancelled on the last Tory watch; 12,000 rental home evictions in the first quarter of the year. In the last five years of the Tories, they borrowed more money than Labour did in 13 years. And immigration is higher than 2010. In the five years preceding the recent election, the vast majority of workers were left worse off. Now they want to attack the unions. They want the strike vote to be at least 40 per cent. If that were the case for MPs, then Parliament would be empty. The Tories do not want the workers to have rights.
