This seal was found far from its normal habitat on the River Ouse at Ten Mile Bank, near Downham, last week.
The picture was taken by reader Richard Watson ... but the seal did not seem to mind as it relaxed on the mooring point by the river.
Seals are quite a common site in the Ouse as they pursue fish up the river. They can live for about a week in freshwater before returning to marine conditions. But some 20 miles upstream at Ten Mile Bank is probably further they most would venture.
