Zey The Mouse boldly goes forth into sci-fi
A brand new animated science fiction episode by Lynn film producers of Zey The Mouse is out now on YouTube.
It has taken creator Ian Harding eight months to hand craft the film sets and and new characters (The Keeper of the Gems; the evil robot Gorpbot).
The episode is stop-motion, with special effects, sounds and music.
The episode, ‘Who’s Playing The Game’, is a sci-fi/fantasy computer game, which sees Zey and Dylan Dog visit ‘The Gamez Shop’ for a new game.
They are both surprised when the game starts to play, as an ‘alien’ wants them to save his worlds. Zey and Dylan get shrunk down and zapped into the computer screen.
They appear through a time portal where they meet Gorpbot, some asteroids, then a computer game level where The Keeper of the Gems is guarding them.
Through the portal they come to a mysterious place, including a silver metal door with an alien head and some patterns, with the words ‘Truth’, ‘Peace’, ‘Love’ and ‘Hope’. Dylan has to work out what the gems mean.
The moral of the story is about helping and love.
Ian said: “I would like to thank everyone involved in making this new episode come together: Jonathan Smith for writing the script, Ross Patterson for his voice part, and Nadia de Lemeny, for playing Mrs. Mouse.
“Nadia is a friend and used to be one of the presenters on a hugely popular 1980’s TV weekend show called No.73.”
No.73’s presenters included Sandi Toksvig, of QI fame.
Ian said: “It’s a new venture for me as I like to try new themes. I have enjoyed this so much.
“I had to re-work a lot of scenes, as the characters kept falling over or a hand would move.
“I’m hoping the followers will enjoy this and also hope to see what sci-fi fans think. My YouTube channel has now had almost 25,000 video hits. Fans have said that Zey is inspirational and that the characters are charming.
“A fan of Zey’s made a claymation tribute clip of him which was very sweet, that’s on YouTube as well.”
