“The players have committed to learning the new style of play and improving their all-round game and skills.

“The players and coaching team are looking forward to the season ahead playing new teams in a higher league which will create different challenges which we are all ready to get stuck into.”

On Beaumont’s arrival, club chairman Graham Woodcock said: “I see a great opportunity here for Aaron to help us realise the full potential of our squads and ambitions in the league next season.

“At just 26, he has already developed a strong track record as a player and coach and we are looking forward to helping him to help us achieve his coaching goals.”

Previous head coach Darren Clarke, who has moved up to director of rugby, added: “We are fortunate to have found the right candidate at the right time and we are pleased to welcome Aaron to Gatehouse Lane.

“He has already made a good impact and impression as a guest coach in pre-season training and is already beginning to make his
