West Norfolk Riding for the Disabled duo make their mark at Woodbridge
It was a day to remember for Aynsley Calvert and his equine partner Harry, who made a remarkable debut at the RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association) East Region Carriage Driving Qualifier on Sunday.
Representing the West Norfolk Riding for the Disabled’s Magpie Centre, this was Aynsley’s first-ever competition at this level - and what a debut it proved to be.
Demonstrating poise, precision, and true Magpie Centre spirit, Aynsley and Harry left an indelible mark on the event.
Their performance began with a dressage test that impressed judges and spectators alike, earning an outstanding 72% - a remarkable score for a first-time qualifier.
The pair then tackled the cone obstacle course with calm confidence, completing it faultlessly and incurring no penalties.
Their success was backed by the unwavering support of the Magpie Centre’s dedicated team of staff and volunteers, whose encouragement and guidance helped prepare the pair for this competitive challenge.
“We’re incredibly proud of Aynsley and Harry,” said a spokesperson for the West Norfolk RDA.
“Their determination and teamwork truly reflect the spirit of our centre, and they’ve inspired us all.”
Special thanks were extended to RDA Woodbridge for hosting the event and providing such excellent facilities and a welcoming atmosphere.
