West Norfolk Swimming Club have been the grateful beneficiaries of an unusual fundraising raffle in recent weeks.

Tattoo artist Becca Skittrell, who is sister to WNSC swimmer Olivia, decided to support her sister’s club in their return to the water after the lengthy COVID-19 lay off, by offering tattoo vouchers as prizes.

Becca, pictured on the right with sister Olivia, set up the raffle and promoted it through her Instagram account @becca_tattoo, selling tickets to friends and followers, as well as via the swimming club social media platforms as well.

Becca, who works at New Image Tattoo Studio in Wisbech, said: “My Mum and Dad are involved with the club, and Olivia obviously swims for them, and I wanted to do something to help them out with the pressures of getting back up and running after lockdown.

“I’m really pleased with the amount raised and look forward to working with the winners’

Overall 103 tickets were sold, raising a fantastic £515, with buyers winning one of the three vouchers on offer.

Club chairman Simon Rose said: “We are incredibly grateful to Becca for her generous support. She has raised a huge amount for us with her raffle, which will go a long way in what are very difficult times for everyone.

“I have seen several examples of Becca’s work, and it’s all of a fantastic standard.”

Despite not being able to have any competitive action in the pool, West Norfolk Swimming Club members continue to train hard on a regular basis.
