Danish ace wants to deliver King's Lynn some silverware

Reserve Frederik Jakobsen wants to deliver a big silver thank you to everyone at King’s Lynn Stars by overcoming Sheffield in the speedway Premiership League Cup.

Last night's first leg at Owlerton was postponed late on after guidance from South Yorkshire Police following a major incident investigation taking place outside the stadium.

Last week saw Jakobsen bag 16+1 points and five wins on his return.

The Dane had been suffering from a neck injury but quickly made an impact on board his new engine in the 63-27 win over Wolverhampton.

“Winning the final would mean a lot to the team, the fans and the club and we are racing to win,” he said.

“Alex (Brady, team manager) has been telling me all the time that I need to help the team win some silverware and I have to say a big thank you to him for bringing me in.

“It was a big risk for him to take but I feel really good and have been made to feel so welcome. I thank everyone here for making my experience better and helping me to perform on the track and I hope I can help bring home the cup for everyone here.”

Jason Edwards had been due to return in the Rising Star berth with Lynn’s top six unchanged.

The second leg at the Adrian Flux Arena was due to take place on Monday but Sheffield’s play-off with Wolves now takes precedence after a rain-off. A new date will be announced in due course.
