Downham Town maintain top spot in Thurlow Nunn Division One North




Downham Town maintained top spot in Thurlow Nunn Division One North with a 2-0 victory over in-form Norwich CBS at the Memorial Field.

A first-half goal from Jack Frohawk was doubled by Luke Plumb after the interval.

Plumb was the provider for Downham’s opening goal as Frohawk took control of the ball before cutting inside and firing the hosts into the lead.

The second goal arrived when Frohawk saw his effort well saved before Plumb pounced on the rebound to find the back of the net.

New signing Robbie Priddle came off the bench to make his debut.

Tonight, Downham travel to March Town in the Knockout Cup.

Fakenham Town claimed the derby spoils against King’s Lynn Town Reserves with a 3-1 success at the Elgood's Stadium. All of the goals arrived in the first half with Josh Youngs (2) and Lewis Hart on target for the Ghosts.

In the Premier Division, Swaffham Town drew 1-1 with Walsham le Willows at Shoemakers Lane.

Thomas Wagg lobbed the goalkeeper from the left-hand side of the box to give the Pedlars the lead, before Walsham equalised at the start of the second half.
