King’s Lynn Stars boss hoping for united front against Birmingham tomorrow

Busy team boss Rob Lyon hopes a united front can carry Lynn through when Birmingham head to the Adrian Flux Arena on Thursday (7.30pm).

The PSH Environmental Stars aim to kick off a vital month in their chase for the play-offs by seeing off the Brummies with the help of guest Ben Cook, who stands in for the injured Nicolai Klindt.

Rider replacement will be in operation at No 1 but with Grand Prix charger Jan Kvech impressing on his Adrian Flux Arena debut and a win bagged in the reverse fixture at Perry Barr, Lyon has seen enough to believe his boys can step up to the plate while the club's efforts to draft in new riders continues.

“This is now the first of four home meetings in July and if we can manage to win them and get bonus points where applicable then it puts us right in the mix for fourth,” he said.

“By that point we may well have managed to strengthen. It is no secret it has been a tough few weeks but our efforts to establish the strongest possible team continue. Once we get a settled side again, we can look to kick on and push towards the play-offs, which is what it is all about.

“I feel confident that if we can pick the right guests in the short term, we have enough in the tank to win at home on a consistent basis now but we have to find replacements and establish a settled side, we all know that. That is not an easy job but if we can do that then we have a good chance.

“You have to be realistic and say that top three is probably out of our range now but fourth certainly isn’t and you have to keep fighting. It is a possibility and as long as that possibility exists, we will give everything we have to get there.”

Freddie Lindgren misses out having picked up an injury at the weekend, meaning the Brummies will also run rider replacement at No 1.
